- Yesterday afternoon members of the pro-casino group, Many Voice of
Middleboro, distributed their first professionally printed signs on
North Main Street near the four
corners. Although water proof, casino supporters will need to do some home
craft work to display them as lawn signs since they aren't printed on
rigid material.
The anti-casino group CasinoFacts is already on the second version of
their lawn sign which now says "No Casino!" instead of "Get the Facts!".
Members of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Works local 223
who live in the area have joined Many Voices of Middleboro in rallying
twice a week at the rotary.
CasinoFacts has had representatives making their case at some selectman
meetings in nearby towns. Bill Marzelli, who is pro-casino, spoke at the
Plympton selectman's meeting.
At the CasinoFacts meeting
last night it was standing room only in the meeting room at the library.
Some of the attendees were residents of other towns.

NECN was in town interviewing the pros and cons with two reporters in the
morning. One reporter's segment has already been aired (see
Adam Bond on NECN
) and the other reporter, Brad
Puffer, is due to to have his interviews broadcast tonight on Channel 8 at 9:30 and 10:30 P.M.
In the afternoon ABC Channel 5 was here filming a story on the casino. It
is being broadcast today.
This website, having run out of the first thousand Casino-Friend.com bumper
stickers, is hoping to be able to obtain another thousand to distribute
well before Town Meeting. As soon as they come it will be noted on the
masthead.
