An open letter to Rich Young5/5/08 Dear Mr. Young, I am writing solely as the editor and publisher of this website to you in your position both as president of CasinoFacts.org PAC and Casino Free Mass. My message is simple. I believe you should remove links on CasinoFacts.org to any blogs which either are engaging in personal attacks against individuals, whether under the guise of humor or not, or have such attacks in their archives. Your CFO.org website's disclaimer of "the content of the blogs we link to are out of our editorial control - caveat emptor" lacks credibility for two reasons. First, your CFO website endorses these websites by calling the blogs "interesting". This is a tacit, but none the less, real endorsement. Second, and I can only speculate on this, but I believe that most of the regular hits on your website come from those looking for an easy way to read the blogs. You are the president of Casino Free Mass, a group whose formal coalition includes three religious groups, and president of CFO which has what appears to be an informal coalition of blog writers and regular blog comment posters who engage in varying levels of personal attacks from mockery to character assassination. You can deny a formal connection to these blogs, but appearances in this instance are important. They convey a great deal about the values you and both the organizations you head believe in. I can't believe the Casino Free Mass coalition would support some of the content on several of these blogs. It is difficult to see you as president of both groups as having dual standards. I would hope that you'd insist on the same standard I just read for posting on the blogs you link to which The Taunton Gazette uses: "Don't say anything here you wouldn't say in front of your mother at the dinner table."
